Arlene and Richard came up with the idea of America’s Army in Waiting during their morning walks.
We usually walk about two miles at 6 a.m. and talk about our hopes and needs.
Among our concerns are the financial challenges we face as typical Americans in the current economy. Like many other hard-working people, we struggle to honor our debts, including the student loans that enabled us to gain the professions of our choice.
The concept of America’s Army in Waiting came from our conviction that any community, any society grows stronger and stays healthy through collaborations that support both the needs and the talents of its members. We know that our country is full of capable service providers who can help themselves while we help others.
The Army in Waiting is based on this simple principle.
